May 31st, 2012: Nicklas Lidstrom announces his retirement, just over a month after finishing his 20th season in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings, having become one of the greatest defencemen in history. Lidstrom is a 4-time Stanley Cup winner, a 12-time NHL All Star, a 7-time Norris Trophy winner, a Conn Smythe Trophy winner, and a member of the elite Triple Gold Club, to name a few. By far the most respectable player in the NHL, Lidstrom will be missed by not only fans of the Red Wings, but by fans of opposing teams, and by the opposing teams themselves. Nicklas Lidstrom has been a constant inspiration for aspiring NHL’ers all over the world, and surely it’ll be a big change not seeing number 5 suit up for the opening game of Detroit’s 2012-2013 season. Quite frankly, it’s a little scary to not be able to say, “See you in the fall, Nick.” To Nicklas Lidstrom, I say thank you. Thank you for being a consistent competitor, a fair opponent, and an inspiration, I’m afraid that out of all I’ve seen retire in my years as a hockey fan, you’re the one I’ll miss most.
Excuse me while I turn onto a wallowing ball of feels.

really?
am i the only one who finds it a bit confusing that my boyfriends mother is more concerned that he might be spending a quiet night at my house watching a movie and cuddling than the fact that he might be drinking with a guy who was in jail?
cool.
i feel like shit right now. “now that is real beauty.” when referring to some facebook friend. all he had to say is “you are beautiful” but i guess i will have to settle with “I like you’re face. it’s cute.” awesome. maybe you should just date the “really beautiful” one. I am sure it would be much more convenient.
Oh lord lol this is literally what joel and I do in our free time… well.. when we arent playing “Lick the Elbow”
So, the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards look like fun…

i NEEED to get back on the ice. I had a dream about it last night… i scored a goal and the goalie was a guy… and i said “get some son!”… it was a strange dream… mostly because i scored…

wonderful
i would just like to say… it is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC to have a boyfriend who actually enjoys watching me rant about something. Who knew? I was sitting in the kitchen at his house today eating pizza and he sniffed his beer bottle, exclaiming how great it smelled. I then replied “you are so interesting to watch. I hope you think I am interesting to watch, although probably not, because I spend most of my time watching you.” his response was something along the lines of “no I do enjoy watching you, mostly when you rant about something.” it is love.
ALSO while one the subject, i just wanted to share a particularly ironic event that took place today. While sitting in Dave’s Cosmic Sub Shop (those of you who have never been there, it is fantastic, and 60’s themed aka tripping ballsssss), Joel and I spent around an hour talking about art, the changes it has made to society, the changes it has made through the years, and its relation to the rest of the world. This would not have been nearly as interesting if it were simply two art students yammering back and forth saying the same thing over and over again. It was a true interaction of the left and right brain. I am the right as an artist and he is the left as a scientist. I would not mind spending the rest of my life in conversation like this…
